Partner

Laurence joined NLP as a Partner in October 2018. He qualified at BDO Stoy Hayward (now BDO LLP) spending time in both their Audit and Business Restructuring Advisory departments. He has since continued his career at mid-tier firms.

He is passionate about working with young and ambitious early-stage businesses, fast-growth companies and dynamic and entrepreneurial SME's, with a focus on those in creative industries and tech. His sector experience and technical expertise enable him to identify financial, strategic and tax planning opportunities for his clients at every stage of the business life cycle.

Laurence's entrepreneurial spirit, hands-on approach and ability to forge effective long-lasting working relationships mean that he can quickly get on the wavelength of his clients, delivering practical insights and a client-focused service. He takes the time to understand the ambitions of the people behind the businesses he advises.

Away from work, Laurence enjoys music production and song writing, all things tech, travel and is kept busy trying to keep his young children out of trouble! He is also a big Arsenal fan and an overly vocal "Sunday football dad".

Three things to know about Laurence

If you could invite three people (living, dead or fictitious) to a dinner party, who would they be?

Living: The king of one-liners, Peter Kay. Yes, I will be serving a garlic bread starter and cheesecake for dessert!

Dead: Toss-up between Sam Cooke and Donny Hathaway for a post-dinner sing-along. Always loved soul music.

Fictitious: I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid, so it would have to be Yoda. Need to learn that Jedi mind trick thing he does... and Interesting and insightful, he will be.

What is your favourite quote?

“Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after having an experience with you becomes your trademark.”

Who would play you in your biopic?

People tell me I am a dead ringer for the Matrix actor Laurence Fishburne… or was it that I have a similar name?!
