Olivier Awards 2015

Last night heralded the 2015 Olivier Awards which took place at the Royal Opera House in London with comedian Lenny Henry as the host.

The big winner was the Kinks musical Sunny Afternoon which took home 4 of the awards. It was also a great night for the Young Vic which also won 4 awards.

While new stars led the musical performance categories, acclaimed veterans of the stage and screen led the straight performance awards with  Penelope Wilton collecting Best Actress for her performance in Nazi Germany-set Taken at Midnight , while Angela Lansbury as she heads towards her 90th birthday won her 1st Olivier for Best Actress in a supporting role for her turn in Blithe Spirit.

Biggest congrats go to our friends at Wicked who won the highly coverted ‘This Morning Audience Award’ which was the only Olivier award voted on solely by the general public.
