Nyman Libson Paul, Chartered Accountants, well known in local business circles and the entertainment industry, hosted its 75th Anniversary Party at BAFTA on Tuesday 3 June 2008.
The firm has been based in Regina House, opposite Finchley Road station, for at least the last 30 years and in that time has become part of the local business community.
Established in 1933 by the late Nyman Libson, the firm has now grown to 14 partners and 100 staff, and amongst others has acted for all 21 of the James Bond films, a large number of BAFTA and Oscar winners, as well as an extensive range of business clients from a multitude of sectors, predominantly property and fashion. Many clients, particularly in the entertainment industry, live nearby in Hampstead and Highgate.
Around 350 guests, including many well-known faces from all strands of the entertainment industry, arrived at BAFTA for an evening of champagne, canapés and music and guests partied until late. John Libson, son of the late Nyman Libson and himself a former senior partner of the firm, gave an entertaining summary of the firm’s illustrious history. Actor Tom Conti proposed a toast to the continued success of the firm, and used the opportunity to dust off some of his favourite accountant jokes.
