Ken Dias

Ken joined the firm in 1984 as a trainee accountant and has been a partner since January 2001. His principal  area of interest is within the entertainment industry, focussing particularly on the film and television sector.

He has advised a number of film production companies on creating appropriate tax structures to avail of UK and overseas tax benefits.  He has extensive experience in the audit process and other requirements for the certification of British films and films made under recognised co-production treaties including negotiations with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Film Council. In recent years, he has assisted a number of film production clients including a major Hollywood studio in recovering significant amounts of VAT incurred in various EU countries.

In addition to this, Ken also acts for a number of SME’s in the retail sector, manufacturing, independent schools, property development and investment, restaurants and hotels, solicitors and other professional firms. He has been involved in the development and growth of these businesses over the years, and advises on acquisitions, mergers and exit strategies. Furthermore, he also acts for a number of sole traders and partnerships.

Needless to say, over the years Ken has built up an extensive range of business contacts both in the UK and overseas which has provided our internationally based clients with a comprehensive service second to none.

Ken harbours an ambition to play cricket at Lords and is also a trustee of a charity.
