Paul Taiano

Paul joined Nyman Libson Paul as a trainee in 1979, qualified in 1982 and was promoted to partner in 1986. The majority of his client base is connected with the entertainment industry including theatre, film and television. His particular expertise is with the theatre industry where clients range from the commercial sector, including theatre owners, managers and production companies through to charitable organisations and the regulatory sector including employer associations and statutory bodies. The services provided to these entities vary from production accounting, audit and tax compliance to advising on financial development, structuring acquisitions and tax planning.

As a result of his professional expertise and in-depth knowledge of the theatre industry, in 1997 Paul was asked to join the Board of Governors of the Central School of Speech and Drama and in 2005 was appointed Chairman. Central is a federal college of the University of London and is an international centre of excellence based in London, providing quality higher education in, and training for, the dramatic arts and the performance and media industries.

Paul also acts in a voluntary capacity as a non-executive director of Huntingdon Steeplechases Limited which owns and operates the National Hunt racetrack at Huntingdon. This appointment is as a result of Paul’s financial background in addition to a life long passion for national hunt horse racing having ridden since the age of 16 as an amateur national hunt/point-to-point jockey. Unfortunately his riding career was brought to an abrupt end following a fall in March 2005 when he suffered a broken neck resulting in tetraplegia paralysis and is now confined to a wheelchair. However, despite his disabilities Paul has continued to fulfil work and voluntary commitments.
